I am generally not a sports fan, but I would just like to say how proud I am of the Dallas Stars and their treatment of misogynist-extrordinaire Sean Avery. After the hockey player called his ex-girlfriend “leftovers” the organization had this to say:
“Sean Avery wil not be returning to the team, after breaking numerous team rules and embarrassing the organization, the Stars announced. Avery’s salary will still be paid by the Stars, but is no longer welcome on the roster. “You want what’s best for the player,” co-GM Brett Hull said on Sunday. “But I think more than anything, for us, we want what’s best for the Dallas Stars. This is not… a witch hunt. We don’t want to ruin Sean or his career. We want Sean to get better. The Stars need to move on. The team needs to move on and start winning in a more consistent basis.”
The sexist hockey player is currently undergoing some sort of anger management, which is a slick pr move but hopefully it will help.
